Dr. Wiley completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Zoology at the University of Toronto and his Ph.D. in Anatomy at Queen’s University. He teaches Anatomy, Histology and Embryology to undergraduate Arts and Science students and contributes to the Gross Anatomy and Embryology components of the Structure and Function block and Neuroanatomy in the Brain and Behaviour block of first year Medicine. In collaboration with members of the Division of Biomedical Communications, Dr. Wiley has developed an interactive computerized approach to laboratory teaching for Arts and Science students. His research interests include experimental Embryology and the mechanisms of teratogenesis. He has sustained a long collaboration with members of the Faculty of Pharmacy investigating the role of reactive metabolic intermediates in teratogenesis and embryotoxicity.

Dr Wiley has retired as of June 2015, but will continue to contribute to the STF curriculum for the 2015-16 year.


STF 111F Structure and Function
A multidisciplinary course for undergraduate Medicine that provides students with a sound, integrated, basic background in Gross Anatomy, Embryology, Radiologic Anatomy, Histology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry (excluding Metabolism), Cardio-Respiratory Physiology, Haematology and Ethics.
